Stratford Upon Avon, May 8-9, 2009

I traveled to Stratford Upon Avon- Shakespeare's birthplace. It was a nice village to walk around and shop and see some country architecture. Part of the tourist destination is all places associated with Shakespeare: including his birthplace; Nash's House (museum next door to his final place of residence); Hall's Croft (owned by his daughter and her husband Dr. John Hall); Ann Hathaway's cottage (his wife) I even snuck a picture of the bench where Anne and William courted; and the Holy Trinity Church where is buried along with his family. All these places had beautiful gardens. On the way back from the Church we found some tea cups that said "If you find me- keep me and have a lovely day"- neat idea to brighten up someone's day.

Also found some antique stores and found unique items for purchase. Walked along the river and found a wish tree with different wishes tied on the limbs. The Royal Shakespeare Theatre has scaffolding all the way around as it is undergoing renovations.
